Most Expensive Merch Items - Guild Wars Forums

Got to wondering what the top dollar is that our friendly neighbourhood Merchant will pay for various coloured drops.

Here's what I've found laying around in inventory:
- White: 109g
- Blue: 167g
- Purple: 289g
- Gold: 461g
- Green: 68g

I did slap a Show Me The Money inscription on a couple of them.

I'm sure these aren't the highest in the game. Anyone want to check to see what they have stored away to see what the highest amount the Merch will pay?

I got this many moons ago from a hidden treasure in Nightfall. I'm almost certain it was from the Nightfallen Jahai treasure.

There was a thread somewhere actually discussing item prices within the last week. Your odd-value gold items(ie non-multiple of 2) will be of much interest as the last i saw no one had found one in the thread and this is what people were discussing.

There's a thread in Trader's Outpost with quite a few screenshots of high-value golds.

If you wanted to necrobump the topic, I'm sure the Ventari's mods wouldn't mind. You'd likely get more discussion there imo.

@Intrinsic: Those two golds wouldn't count. If the "show me the money" inscriptions were removed, I think the gold value would revert to an even number.

Well Thank you Jimbo for the link .. I missed that thread altogether. It is exactly what I was curious about.

I hate bumping old threads .. but if a mod wanted to .. they could transfer this over to that.

@makosi - I saw in that thread your shield without SMTM inscription was 612g .. with a perfect 75g SMTM, it would be 687g; 2g more than your screenshot above .. which is the highest I've ever seen for a gold item .. Good Find !

This belongs more in Ventari's. As there is ongoing discussions about merchant value of items, you'd be better off posting in them.

High Gold Valued Items - you would have to necro this thread though. I'd suggest PM'ing a Ventari mod first if you plan on posting in here.
Merch value of gold and purple weapons - this is a very interesting discussion about the maths behind the values of items to a merchant.
